Melissa Summers grew up Adventist in Lillington, North Carolina. However, at age 17 she graduated from high school, joined the U.S. Army, and left the world of religion far behind as she rocketed to fame and fortune in the world of radio and television as an on-air personality.

Fame and fortune? Really? Consider some of the facts.

At age 18 in her first year in the Army, she became an on-air talent for the Army's Top 40 station in Fort Gordon, Georgia.
