Something Wiccan This Way Comes -- Interview Part III Wicca, Witchcraft LONNIE”: Let’s talk more about you’re concerns with Wicca Witchcraft, today, Steve. STEVE: Well, I’m a deep student of Revelation, and I’m concerned about sorcery deceiving the world. LONNIE: What is Wicca? STEVE: Now those that are into Wicca Witchcraft, they don’t believe in a real Devil, and many people especially Christian, they are misinformed about witchcraft, and they think that Wicca’s are just out and out Satan lovers and that they worship the Devil, but that’s just not true. They don’t even believe in the Devil. They don’t even believe in the Bible or sin. They believe that nature is divine, and that they can tap into the powers of nature, including the spirits of nature. They believe that self is God. STEVE: My new book, The Hour of the Witch, is a book that talks about the popularity of witch craft and its’ popularity among teenager’s. The book was picked up by Destiny Books, and it will be in wide release. Witch craft is growing rapidly in our world, and that it really is one of the signs of the times. LONNIE: Let’s get more specific now. Let’s talk about what is specifically wrong with Wicca. Let’s talk about our Native Americans, and what they say about nature and so forth. STEVE: Well in the final days, the Bible say’s we should fear God and worship Him. We should worship the maker of heaven and earth. There is an appeal within Wicca, with our fast paced lives, to get back in touch with nature and so on. But in Romans it says they worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever and ever. And I know that with Native Americans, and all through out history, people have seen the hand of God, of the creator in nature. But many times they shift from God to worshiping the things that He had made, like the sun, moon, trees, and stars. Wicca Witchcraft believes that God is in everything. But the Bible says that we shouldn’t worship the creature, but we should worship the creator. LONNIE: So, and I hear that this might lead back to Satan’s lie there in the Garden of Eden, you know, if God is in everything, you also have God in you. If you just cultivate this a little bit, you could become God. STEVE: There is no question, Lonnie, that one of the core doctrines of the craft, is the belief that self is God. That there is the ability in all of us to be god that really god resides in all of us waiting to be awakened. It does all go back to that core lie from the Garden, the serpent said that if she ate that fruit, that she wouldn’t die, you’re eyes will be opened and you’ll be like God. You’ll know good and evil, and Wicca Witchcraft claims to offer you the same thing. LONNIE: And Jesus in contrast, said something much different. STEVE: That’s right. Learn, is the word here. In Deuteronomy, it says that the people when entering the Promised Land, were to not learn the practices of the Nations, and that they were to stay away from things such as Witchcraft, sorcery, spells, potions, communication with the dead, so, in contrast, instead of learning these things that come from Witchcraft, we should learn about the things that come from Jesus Christ our Lord. I have a friend of mine, who has a poster in his room, and the poster is a picture of nature, and it says, here are two fundamental facts of human enlightenment. Number 0ne, there is a God, Number two, you are not him. And another one of the most frightening things about Wicca is that it claims to be able to tap into the Spirits of Nature, and that’s what they do in their magical workings and so forth. That is very, very dangerous Lonnie. In the book of Revelation, chapter 9, those who don’t repent of their sorceries, will not be ready for Christ. Wicca’s think that what they’re tapping into, the spirits of nature, of gods, of ancestors, or the dead, is god. But According to the Bible, it’s the spirits of Devils, and my biggest concern, is for those people who dabble into witchcraft, who think that it’s just a friendly nature religion, and they don’t realize that they’re opening themselves up to being invaded, controlled by real forces of Satan. They don’t believe in a devil, and again that is a very real problem With Wicca. LONNIE: So, as people are listening today, they’re kids are into this, the Harry Potter books, would you go as far as to say that when Jesus says in Matthew 11:29, learn of me, that really He is God’s alternative to this Wicca, and if kids really want to change, pray that they will find Jesus. STEVE: We need to keep our eyes on God, and teach our children to do the same. |
